Privacy Policy
Effective September 14, 2026
This site, lindseycaplan.com, is run by Lindsey Caplan ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what we collect when you visit, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have kept it in plain language on purpose.
What we collect
Information you give us:
• Your name and email address when you subscribe to the newsletter.
• Your name, email, organization and message when you use the contact form, including details about an event you are planning. Those messages come to us by email, and Squarespace also keeps a record of them with the site’s form submissions.
• Anything you choose to include when you email us directly.
Information collected automatically:
• Our website host, Squarespace, records basic visit information: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site you arrived from.
• We use website analytics to see which pages people read and how they found us. We look at this in aggregate, not to identify you.
We do not collect payment or credit card information on this site.
Why we collect it
• To reply to you when you get in touch.
• To send the newsletter you asked for.
• To schedule and prepare for calls, speaking engagements and advisory work.
• To understand which ideas are landing, so we write about the ones that are.
• To keep the site running, secure and working properly.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the site. Each handles information under its own privacy policy:
• Squarespace — website hosting, forms, mailing lists, email campaigns and site analytics.
• Google — website analytics and our email.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or if this business is ever sold or transferred.
Cookies
Some cookies are necessary for the site to work. Others help us measure traffic. Where the law requires it, you will see a banner asking your permission before any non-essential cookies are set. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed standard for how websites should answer one, so we do not currently respond to them.
We use your email address only for what you signed up for. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and we act on it.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe at any time. Email hello@lindseycaplan.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, including California and the EU or UK, you may have additional rights over your information. We honor these requests wherever you live.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries as long as we need them for the conversation or the work that follows, and business records for as long as the law requires. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe.
Children
This site is meant for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Where your information is stored
Our service providers store information in the United States. If you are visiting from elsewhere, you are sending your information to the United States, where privacy laws differ from those where you live.
Other sites
This site links to other websites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant, we will say so on the page.
